LIghtning McQueen on the Brain
This morning Mother Nature woke us up with a thunderstorm. Carson climbed into my bed and said in all seriousness, "It's Lightning McQueen outside, Mommy." I love him!

Tylenol Fixes Everything
Carson wasn't listening, again! What else is new. So, I picked him up and took him into the bathroom to brush his teeth for bed. When I set him down, he started crying and yelling, "That hurt my feelings ALOT, Mom!" He then went to the linen closet and said, "I want some of that Tylenol. My feelings hurt!" So cute!

Needs vs Wants
Carson is learning the difference between "I need" and "I want." For instance...
Last night right before bed the conversation went something like this...
"Get upstairs, Carson. It's time for bed."
"I want to watch Dora, please?"
"No, it's time for bed."
"I want to watch Dora! I NEED to. I NEED to. Just a witto bit"
This morning he NEEDED to use Jerrod's deodorant on his tummy. The other day he NEEDED a "beard" out of the fridge. Turns out it was a V8 in a tiny can he was calling a beer! Tiny eyes are always watching!

Washington D.C.
View of the capitol from top of Washington Monument
Jerrod had a conference in Alexandria, VA this weekend, so we decided to tag along. The kids and I met up with Aunt Sue (she lives in Arlington) both Saturday and Sunday and saw all kinds of great things in D.C. and the surrounding area. Saturday, first on our list was going to see where Barack Obama lives. After an Arabic lunch (not everyone was a fan!), we headed to the O & C Canal where we got to ride a canal boat pulled by mules similar to the ones they used in the 1870s to haul coal. We then met Jerrod for dinner at Ernie's Crab Shack...a favorite D.C. spot of Jerrod's since he was a kid! It's quite the experience. They dump a dozen whole crabs on butcher paper in front of you and arm you with a hammer and a plastic knife.
On Sunday, we were able to ride to the top of the Washington Monument. It was such a beautiful, clear day; the view was incredible!
We definitely didn't even put a dent in all of the activities we need to do in D.C. before we leave the east coast. Since it's only 4 hours away, we'll be making at least 1 more trip!
(I really do love Carson as much as Camryn, he's just too wild and never sits still for a picture! That's why you never see him in vacation pictures!)

Maybe Kindergarten Doesn't Rock...
Camryn had a hard time letting go this morning. I'm not sure what the problem was. There were tears and she had a vice grip around my waist. This is what I anticipated on the 1st day, not the 9th. We'll see what she has to say about it this afternoon when I pick her up.

Cursed Out Carson Style
Carson has a new phrase he likes to say when he's mad at you. He learned it from the movie "Madagascar!" He looks at you with his meanest face and says, "Ziploc Fresh!" That's right. Watch out. Them are fighting words!
