Kindergarten Rocks!

Those were Camryn's exact words when we were talking about how her day went today: "Kindergarten Rocks, Mom, just like the book said!" I'm so glad she had a good time. She made a couple of new friends and shares a table with 3 other great kids. Here's to more rockin' days to follow!

Off Without A Hitch

Already Working Hard!

Well, Camryn is officially a kindergartner! Really no hesitation on her part which is a HUGE difference from a year ago when she started preschool. It's been hard sitting at home being able to hear the kids on the playground. I can almost see them through the trees too! But Camryn is going to love being at school. She was getting so bored at home. Carson, on the other hand, is really going to miss having someone to play with here at home. However, not to be outdone by his big sister, Carson has been wearing underwear all day today!!! Could we possibly knock out 2 major milestones in just 1 day?

Carson and Adeline

Our neighbor's granddaughter is here visiting from North Carolina. She and Carson connected right away. They're so cute!

One of My Favorites

I just found this picture and wanted to post it. It was taken right after Jerrod finished his triathlon in Colorado back in June. He looks like he's giving Jerrod pointers! " I don't know why you didn't just swim faster. And what was with running the wrong direction after the bike transition. And..."

A Strange Cat

This isn't how I pictured Carson ending up in the laundry shoot. I guess there is still time! Anyway, he actually asked me to put him in (down in the laundry room) and then shut the door! He sat in there and meowed for a good 5 minutes! What a strange child...

The Boards are Over!

Wow! This is long overdue. Camryn and Carson put together a banner in celebration of Jerrod's completion of the General Surgery Boards on the 13th. Camryn ran the station at the backdoor. She even had a laser that scanned him and beeped if he had any study materials. Unfortunately, he had to have his bag searched! It was pretty cute! We have definitely enjoyed having our daddy back (at least more than we did while he was studying for the boards!).

A Trip to "The Dinosaur Museum"

We are finding all sorts of creative ways to escape the heat here in Pittsburgh. Yesterday we took a trip to the Natural History Museum. The dinosaurs were the biggest hit; that and being out and about with Daddy!

Cousins Visit

Mom and Jenny and her kids were out for a few days last week. While they were here we went to Kennywood amusement park, rode the inclines, checked out Heinz Field, and visited Baldingers, a penny candy store not too far from Pittsburgh. The kids all had lots of fun together. Even Carson and Alex, they just don't know it yet! The time always goes way too quickly.

Unfortunately, they had to return home to some major damage in Eldora, especially at Mom and Grandma's house in town. Straight-line winds with 3-4" hail went through Eldora Sunday morning blowing out 13 windows and leaving most of the town a disaster area.

It's a Small World

We celebrated our neighbor's little boys' birthday yesterday. The twin boys will be 4 on Wednesday. Their family is here from Brazil doing research at UPMC. When it was time to sing Happy Birthday, I wasn't sure how we would sing it. Their primary language is Portuguese! We ended up singing it in 5 different languages: Portuguese, English, Japanese, Danish and Spanish! We have such a diverse backyard with each family speaking a different language!
