Kidz Gig

The kids and I spent the last 3 days at Kidz G.I.G!  We had a blast!  One of my goals for the summer is to teach Camryn and Carson to be more giving.  Through Kidz Gig, we adopted a little girl from Honduras through prayer.  We were encouraged to be creative and think of ways to raise money to help the children in Las Brisas, Honduras.  Camryn we excited to have a lemonade stand.  So yesterday we stopped at the store to get our supplies.  At 5:15 we stood out on the busiest corner near our house for 1 hour.  I couldn't believe it, but she made $40.41!!!  It was amazing.  Everyone was so generous!  She was so proud of herself and wanted to set it up again after dinner.  I think we're well on our way to being able to check this lesson off our summer "to do" list!

Father's Day

For Father's Day we spent the afternoon building a bean bag toss game.  We are still trying to get it finished as far as painting goes.  We agreed it should be "Hawkeye" themed!  Camryn and Carson were excellent helpers, holding the wood while Jerrod cut, using the drill and snapping the chalk line. It was a fun experience overall!

Greenbriar

We spent this past weekend at The Greenbriar Resort in West Virginia.  (The PGA Tour is playing on their Old White Course next month.)  Jerrod had a plastic surgery conference so we thought we'd tag along.  We were fortunate enough to have Dick and Diane come along.  They watched the kids so we could enjoy the resort and the black tie dinners.  It was amazing and so hard to leave.  The cleaning lady would come 3 times per day.  Each time I came back to the room something new was done: my shoes were lined up, my robe hung in the bathroom and our sheets were turned down with mints by the bedside!  Incredible!  Camryn and Carson got to ride horses thanks to Grandma and Grandpa.  The kids, grandparents and I spent the entire afternoon swimming and lounging at the infinity pool on Saturday.  So pretty!  I could definitely get used to that kind of lifestyle.

Memorial Day Weekend

We are so fortunate to have such an incredible group of neighbors.  We planned a BBQ with the other 3 families that we share a backyard with for Memorial Day weekend.  The kids enjoyed bike riding, pinatas, birthday cake, homemade ice cream and flashlight tag.  The adults enjoyed each other's company and great food!
