I took the kids to our friend and optometrist, Liz yesterday where Camryn received some "exciting" news. Apparently, she's been waiting for this moment her whole life! Those were her exact words when she found out she needs glasses. I remember wishing I needed glasses as a kid too. Jerrod felt the exact opposite when he found out he needed them. Must be a girl thing. She is only slightly near-sighted right now, but could be following in her daddy's footsteps. She picked out a super cute pair and is anxiously awaiting their arrival in 2 weeks. Here she is showing them off in the doctor's office.

Dinosaur Diggin'
Carson had President's Day off, and I watched the neighbor's kids. I knew we wouldn't all survive if we stayed home all day. So, we piled in the car and headed to the Natural History Museum. They have a cute exhibit where the kids get to be paleontologists and dig for dinosaurs.

Cloud Dough
So, we've had a really nice winter as far as temperatures go. However, it makes for a muddy backyard with lots of time spent indoors. To help break up the monotony I turned to a Pinterest idea yesterday. This is Cloud Dough:
8 cups flour
1 cup baby oil
It feels like playing with flour, but molds like sand...and makes a huge mess indoors! But it entertained the kids for 2 hours!

Pirate Party
The birthday boy requested a pirate party, so we headed to an indoor play place with a pirate ship! All of the kids had a great time, and I didn't have to clean up afterwards!
Ahoy, Mateys!
Camryn brought her friend, Kira, to help her survive the all boy party!

This picture was the best of many attempts. It was hard to smile while you were saying "AARGH!" and looking through the spotting scope.

Down Storybook Lane
Camryn's Enrichment class has been working all semester on a play called "Down Storybook Lane." Last week Carson and I went to Colfax to watch the performance. It was so cute! I had trouble getting the video to upload, but here is a picture of our little kitten, "Milky".

Sled Riding!
We have really had to get out and take advantage of the snow this winter. We have only had enough for sledding twice so far. One of our favorite sledding spots is at Frick Park. Last year they had signs up that said, "No Sled-Riding!" (Pittsburgese) This year we were happy to see those signs were gone!
