So, we've had a really nice winter as far as temperatures go. However, it makes for a muddy backyard with lots of time spent indoors. To help break up the monotony I turned to a Pinterest idea yesterday. This is Cloud Dough:
8 cups flour
1 cup baby oil
It feels like playing with flour, but molds like sand...and makes a huge mess indoors! But it entertained the kids for 2 hours!

Right Before My Eyes
For some reason today, I realized just how quickly Camryn and Carson are growing up! Even the changes over the 2 years since we moved to Pittsburgh are remarkable! Where does the time go?
July 2009
Sept 2009
Aug 2009
Aug 2009
Now I just need a "now" picture of them to prove how OLD they are getting! Maybe tomorrow?

Rain, Rain, Go Away
After 3 days of rain, we had had enough! I finally sent the kids and dog outside. Yes, it was raining, and yes, it was a muddy mess! But they had a blast making mud pies!
It's looks like Cooper is thinking, "Man, you guys are going to be in so much trouble!"
Cooper won't even look at the camera!

Jake and the Neverland Pirates
Move over Thomas...Carson has found a new love. We came across Jake and the Neverland Pirates on Disney a couple weeks ago. Carson was immediatley entranced. We spend our days as characters from the show. I'm Izzy and he's, obviously, Jake! All 3 of his teachers at preschool are also Izzy! All kinds of piratey adventrues await us!!
I decided to take this love and use it to my advantage. Camryn and Carson have been arguing and fighting constantly! Maybe it's the age, maybe it's spring fever. Either way it has to stop!! My plan: The kids are earning "gold doubloons" for being kind to one another. When they fill their treasure chest, they earn a joint prize! We'll see if this does the trick!

The Snow They've Been Waiting For
The kids were so excited when they woke up and saw snow, finally! These were actually taken last weekend. It snowed again last night and throughout the day today as well. Camryn had a late start at school, and she and Carson begged to go outside before. Cooper loves it too!!! It's hard to get the 3 of them back inside! It sounds like this is nothing compared to the snow our friends and family in Iowa have!

Sharing
This doesn't happen very often in our household, so I thought I had better document it! Camryn and Carson are sharing a chair AND the markers!

She Does Love Him...
Last night Carson pulled every trick in the book to get out of going to bed. He's really been having a lot of trouble listening and following directions as well. Finally, Jerrod had had it. Too many warnings. Long story short, he got sent to bed without books and without his "bwew bwankie." (blue blankie) Camryn could hear all of this going on while I was reading to her in her room. As I turned out the light and told her good night she said, "Mommy, I really want Carson to have his blue blankie to sleep with." Awww! Jerrod had gotten it for him already, but what a sweet big sister to feel bad for her brother. She knows how much he loves that blanket; almost as much as she loves her bunny, Noel!

Snow Day
Last Friday Camryn had a snow day. She and Carson played so well together the whole day. At one particular time I thought it was way too quiet up in the playroom. I went up to investigate. They had dressed themselves in a stack of clothes that were too small for them and too ugly for me to wear anymore. The pants Camryn are wearing are actually a size 2T! It was pretty funny to sneak up on them and spy for just a little bit! These pictures are when they were coming down to show me how lovely they looked!

Sharing a Loving Moment
Whew! I have been waiting for this moment for quite some time. Before Dick and Diane were out, Camryn and Carson were fighting every minute they were together. I swear they've added at least 10 new wrinkles and 25 new gray hairs to my head! Just after baths the other night, I captured this moment!

Dork and Dorkette
I snuck this picture of Camryn and Carson looking like dorks, especially the little one! He insisted on having his bike helmet when we were out in the garage earlier. He also was wearing his snow boots and no diaper! He truly has a mind of his own!

That's What Little Brothers Are For
We have an alarm system in our house. When it's set without turning off the motion detector, anyone who goes downstairs sets off the alarm. This morning, Camryn and Carson were on their way down for something and I didn't even think about the alarm. The next thing I know sirens are going off and 2 kids come running up the stairs as white as ghosts. Camryn was petrified to go back down, even though I had already turned the alarm off. So, what does she do...she pushes Carson ahead of her! HA! Poor little guy. Though he doesn't seem to be scared of much. Last night there was a fuzzy on the carpet that looked a lot like a spider. Camryn and I were blowing at it, trying to get it to move. Carson comes along and just picks it up saying, "Pider, yuty!" (translation: "spider, yucky!")

Really...at bedtime?
Camryn and Carson bicker and argue all day long, like cats and dogs, like husband and wife, like...well, brother and sister! As soon as I try to get one thing done, one of them is picking on the other one. Carson usually antagonizes Camryn, and she's such an easy target! Last night, they chose bedtime to start getting along. Jerrod and I both didn't have the heart to make them stop playing so nicely together. They got an extra 15 minutes and so did we!
