Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh How Embarrassing!

So Carson's been on a roll embarassing me in public lately! Today as we were walking to the bank, Carson saw a man similar to the one above. Carson says, "Run Mommy! That lion is going to catch us!" We turned the corner and I looked back. There wasn't anything behind us. He was adamant about me seeing the lion. So he said, "Wait. There it is! You see the lion!" Sure enough, the poor man had just turned the corner as well and was right behind us! Oh, to be young and innocent again!

I See the Moon, and the Moon Sees Me

Yesterday Carson was playing outside with out neighbors when our teenage neighbor and his friend showed up. His friend had a blonde mohawk similar to the one in the picture above. Carson thought it was hilarious. He went up to him and said, "Hey, why you got that silly moon on your head! That's funny!" HA! What could I do but laugh!! It was so cute!

Sushi Chefs

This weekend our friend, Liz came over to teach us how to prepare sushi. It was quite the experience and what a feast afterwards!! Tasted as good as, if not better than what you get in a restaurant!

Squawks

Carson got a pair of Crocs today. He can say "crocodile," but for some reason "Crocs" doesn't come out right. He keeps calling them his "squawks!" He even wanted to sleep in his "squawks" tonight.

She Does Love Him...

Last night Carson pulled every trick in the book to get out of going to bed. He's really been having a lot of trouble listening and following directions as well. Finally, Jerrod had had it. Too many warnings. Long story short, he got sent to bed without books and without his "bwew bwankie." (blue blankie) Camryn could hear all of this going on while I was reading to her in her room. As I turned out the light and told her good night she said, "Mommy, I really want Carson to have his blue blankie to sleep with." Awww! Jerrod had gotten it for him already, but what a sweet big sister to feel bad for her brother. She knows how much he loves that blanket; almost as much as she loves her bunny, Noel!

Ice Skating

We took the kids ice skating this weekend. Camryn has been begging to go, and she even wanted to take skating lessons. Since she had never been, we decided to hold off on the lessons to be sure she really liked skating. She sometimes has trouble walking, let alone balancing on a blade on the ice! Turns out she loves ice skating! Carson, not so much.

Bowling

Jerrod has been studying like CRAZY lately. In an effort to keep the house quiet, I took the kids bowling last weekend. Look closely at the scores! Yep, I was outbowled by a 5 year-old!!!

Running on the Windshield

Today I went to a friend's house to use her treadmill. (Don't get me started as to why we don't have our own yet...Bowflex, Bike trainer...Grrr) Anyway, when I was done running, Carson wanted to walk on it. So I turned it on really low and away he went. When we were driving home, he said, "That was fun in Liz's basement!" I asked him what his favorite part was, and he said, "Running on the windshield!" This language is so confusing!

Kids Say the Funniest Things!

Last week, Camryn got to go on a fieldtrip to the symphony. She was excited when she learned that other kindergarten classes were going other than hers. When I told her, the conversation went something like this:
Camryn: "Yeah! Now I'll be able to see my best friend!"
Kyra: "Oh, really? What's her name?"
Camryn: "I don't really know her name. She doesn't know mine either, but we're best friends on the playground!"

Names; a minor detail of a friendship, I guess!
