A Little Monkey Bizness

The giant 2-story slide was Jerrod's permanent post.
Good to have a doctor at any party at Monkey Bizness!
Only minor injuries this time!

Camryn celebrated her 5th birthday at Monkey Bizness! The plan was to have it there and not have to worry about the clean-up afterwards. But, we couldn't let a birthday go by without a backyard bash. So, after Monkey Bizness, we had our closest friends and family come to our house to continue the celebration. It was bittersweet having everyone there. We knew this would most likely be the last time we would be surrounded by all of our Colorado friends and family...at least for the next 3 years!

Our Little Ballerina

Camryn participated in her first ballet recital Saturday afternoon. She was so beautiful! We got to put mascara, blush and eye shadow on her too. I think that was her favorite part! She did a great job on stage after crying a few tears. I bribed her with Mongolian BBQ if she got on stage and did her best. The whole family went out for dinner afterwards, and Camryn did such a great job, she earned a Shirley Temple and an ice cream sundae!

Our New Nephew is Here!

Saturday morning we heard the great news that our new nephew, Harper James Keith, was born! We can't wait to get our hands on that boy! Congratulations, Tyson and Mandy!

Residency Graduation

We started the weekend off with Jerrod's Chief's Banquet. It was a ceremony honoring the graduating surgical residents. Dick and Diane were able to come out for the weekend and join us. The reception was held on the 38th floor of the Grand Hyatt downtown Denver. During the meal, a storm blew in and the chandeliers started swaying!! Needless to say, the building didn't come crashing down, and we all had a great time.

It's been quite a journey for the last 5 years. We're ready for the next one to begin in less than 2 weeks! Congratulations, Jerrod! We're all so proud of you!

Turning 5

As I was putting my little girl to bed tonight, I told her about the day she was born. I'm pretty sure I will never forget the way I felt that day...so overwhelmed with joy and fear at the same time. Joy that I finally had the opportunity to meet the little baby that had been living inside me for 9 months, and fear for the little baby that now had to live under my care for the rest of her life! What an amazing experience! Here it is 5 years later, and she's still bringing joy and fear into our lives. Happy birthday, Sweetie!

Well, it's official...Camryn promised she would stop growing at 5, and that day has come! YEA! I wasn't sure what I was going to do with a teenage girl!

We celebrated by making cupcakes with friends in the morning. In the afternoon, Camryn got to go to Build-a-Bear and stuff a new friend. (She's holding Stella Madison Keith in the picture above). For her birthday dinner, it was a toss-up between Mongolian BBQ and Sushi. Sushi won out after convincing her that Grandma wouldn't want to eat sushi when she comes out this weekend! :)
